The Folks Behind Norfolk
Share
My name is Mariah O’Reilly and I live in northern Alberta, happily surrounded by the boreal forest. I'm married to my best friend Shane, whom I met in 2013 while planting trees in British Columbia. When I’m not being a hermit with my animals and books I am probably outside foraging plants and mushrooms. This year I completed my master herbalist diploma which has given me a better understanding of how to harvest and prepare plant medicine. I’ve always felt connected to the land and I believe a big reason for that is my Indigenous and Mennonite heritage. My ancestors held great knowledge of the land and I carry that with me as I continue learning about plants and all of their healing properties. My goal is to donate a percentage of earnings to causes that work towards reconciliation and healing from the damage that assimilation and colonization has caused and continues to cause to Indigenous peoples in this country. Thankful for all the folks that have supported thus far and thank you all for being here.
